The Mid-Century Modern Style
Mid-Century Modern design originated after WWII and this style features functionality and practicality, where form follows function. It is an exploration of different traditional as well as non-tradition materials, thus making it a great style to add a subtle vintage looks to your otherwise modern home. Here we shared some basic tips on how to create the Mid-Century Modern vibe in your home.
COLOR
A vast range of colors can be used, including neutral to bold color. Some iconic colors for this style are Mustard Yellow, Burnt Orange and Turquoise.
WOOD
Wood items such as Teak, Rosewood, Walnut and oak can be used not just in furniture, but also in accent through accessories and ornaments.
GEOMETRIC PATTERNS
Geometric patterns are often used in Mid-Century Modern style to add the fun element in. However, these should not be overused such that it becomes overwhelming. Carpets, artwork and pillows are good choices.
ACCENT
